Company | An AMR startup founded by a former automotive AD tech lead. Owns products such as autonomous transport robot that can switch between AGV mode on trajectory and autonomous mode without pre-defined trajectory, general purpose towing solution for 3rd party trolleys, and fleet management system. Since the product's release in 2022, sales have been steadily increasing. - Established: March 2020 - Workforces: approx. 50 - Capital: JPY 100M |
Job Description | [Job Description] The AMR is a mechatronics device that is composed of various industrial (FA) electrical components and our own electronic circuit boards. This position will be responsible for many tasks related to robot development, including electrical design, such as selecting these devices, as well as designing and evaluating prototypes of the wire harnesses (cable assemblies) that connect them, in AMR- or other robot-related projects. Robot systems such as AMR are equipped with many electrical components. Updating these and making products safer, more powerful, and smaller is an important initiative in improving customer value. Robot electrical and electronic development engineers will comprehensively carry out development work related to these electrical components. The work of robot electrical and electronic development engineers requires the ability to use a lot of knowledge to solve problems. For example, the development of wire harnesses is an important task in the development of the following: - Because it is located between the mechanism and electronic circuits, it is necessary to demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of areas. -- Knowledge of the types of connectors and electric wires used in wire harnesses is required. -- Specifications are bound by multiple different areas such as the mechanism and electronic circuits. -- Ability to read electronic circuit diagrams and understand signal types, applications, current, etc. -- Knowledge of noise countermeasures for board components and signal types is required. -- Calculation of temperature duration, etc. is required to select parts with optimal ratings. -- Consideration of fixing methods and cost reduction using various wiring auxiliary materials is required. - Directly linked to various safety standards such as ISO3691-4 (ISO26262) and UL standards. - Related to legal regulations such as the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act and Radio Act. - Each component, such as motors, requires knowledge of each component. In this way, robot electrical and electronic development engineers need to demonstrate a wide range of knowledge as a kind of robot "generalist." In addition, depending on product development and the company's situation, you will also be engaged in: - Failure analysis - Prototype This position is limited to electrical and electronics, but you may also be directly involved in mechanical design, embedded software, etc. depending on your wishes and experience. [Team and role] You will be part of the Hardware Development Team in the Tech Department, which develops core technologies. In addition to almost all mechanical design and electrical and electronic circuit design provided by the company, you will be responsible for various tasks for mass production (drawing, prototype assembly, evaluation testing). - AMR hardware (mechanism, exterior, selection of electrical components, wire harness, electronic circuit board) - Hardware of trolley towing robots - Hardware for IoT solution that connects facility infrastructure with automatic transport systems - Other new technology developments, etc. You may have to travel to customer sites for investigating hardware defects. Role also includes meetings with prototype suppliers and mass production suppliers. The following are currently separate and therefore outside the position's scope, but you can flexibly work on them as needed. - Launch of mass production line for products, OEM management - Team to evaluate product quality - Software development team There may be members who cover both hardware and software roles, mainly in the embedded field. [Tools used] - The company's robot solution - In-robot software: Linux (Ubuntu) / ROS / Docker - Communication tools: Slack / Notion - Hardware: SolidWorks / Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 3D Printer / KiCAD |
Requirement | [Required] - Experience in development work related to mechatronics products such as robots and automobiles that have been mass-produced in quantities of over 100 units - Knowledge and experience with electronic circuits (electronics level) - Experience using 3D CAD (SolidWorks, etc.) - Able to speak Japanese at an intermediate level -- Conversations with suppliers must be conducted in Japanese. - Able to speak English at an intermediate level -- There will be many situations where you will be speaking with in-house engineers who can speak a little Japanese. Able to use translation tools as appropriate. [Welcome] - Experience in designing autonomously moving products such as automobiles and transport robots - Experience in mass production of wire harnesses for automobiles - Experience in functional safety such as ISO3691-4 (ISO26262) - Electrical qualifications such as electrician, knowledge and experience of high voltage - Experience in electrical regulations such as UL standards - Experience working on brushless DC motors - Experience working on products equipped with lithium-ion batteries - Experience using electrical drawing design CAD - Experience creating wire harness drawings for manufacturing - Experience using electronic circuit design CAD - Experience in negotiating with customers - Business level English - Business level Japanese - Coding skills such as C++ and Python - People who like autonomously moving robots - People who have participated in various robot contests, coding challenges, and other events - People who can concurrently serve in other positions currently being recruited (Job content will be defined and adjusted to a certain extent according to experience and abilities) |
